Shea Lauren Faulconer

My entire career path changed the moment I transferred to Oklahoma State University in my Sophomore year. I impulsively changed my major to journalism, not expecting much, and have come away with a new sense of identity and aspirations for the future.

I've made so many positive connections on my journey at Oklahoma State, and have met so many people who have inspired me to reach for opportunities I never thought possible. I've pushed myself out of my comfort zone and found a new home in the anchoring desk, when a few years ago, I would have cried at the mere thought of public speaking.

My creativity has bloomed in the past year by creating podcasts, multi-dimensional video content, forcing myself to find places I can improve and moving out of my comfort zone. Broadcasting has given me a newfound confidence and an increased ability to think critically and under pressure.

In addition to being a successful reporter and/or anchor, I aspire to own my own athletic wear business, gain my CPT license, and pursue a career in broadcasting, as well as in content creation. Being in the WWE has been my dream since I was 12-years-old. However, that dream has shifted from being involved as a wrestler to being involved as a backstage interviewer, or as a creative writer or producer. One day, I would also love to come back to OSU and continue spreading my knowledge and advice within the realm of broadcasting and journalism.

My passion, besides broadcasting, is to inspire other women to empower themselves and change their lives for the better through health and fitness. I've grown so much over the last year and have learned so much, and I cannot wait to keep growing and improving, professionally and personally.
